Welcome to my personal author page.
For me, writing means giving shape to thoughts, recording observations and turning ideas into stories. Stories that entertain, move and sometimes even inspire us to look at things from a different perspective.
Here you’ll find information about my books, current projects, publications and news about my work as an author.
Stories often emerge where reality and imagination meet.
As an author, I explore people, their decisions, their encounters and the stories that life writes. I’m interested in characters with rough edges, as well as situations where things aren’t always as clear-cut as they seem at first glance.
When I write, my aim isn’t to impose a particular viewpoint on the reader.
Rather, I want to create spaces where readers can develop their own thoughts, images and interpretations.

In Transition is a reflective work of nonfiction about a society losing its certainties without having yet found new ones.
Jean-Paul Bleser describes our time not as a single crisis, but as an ongoing transition. Trust in institutions is declining, discourse is becoming more sensitive, work is exhausting, systems are overwhelmed, and leadership is under pressure. Rather than offering quick explanations or simple solutions, this book provides a clear-eyed assessment of what many people experience in everyday life but can rarely articulate precisely.
The book combines social analysis with personal experience from leadership, social work, and political responsibility. Among other things, it addresses:
the growing fragility of public debate
life in a permanent state of exception
work between the search for meaning and exhaustion
the structural overload of systems
media, perception, and constant agitation
freedom and responsibility in living together
generational conflicts and solidarity
leadership in times of uncertainty
the importance of listening, patience, doubt, and ambivalence
In Transition is neither a manifesto nor a guidebook. It offers no recipes and no quick answers. Instead, it opens space for reflection and orientation for people who bear responsibility or want to understand why social tensions are increasing even as the desire for stability remains strong.
The book is aimed at readers who are willing to tolerate complexity, allow for nuance, and engage with uncomfortable questions. Those looking for simple explanations won't find them here. But those seeking guidance in dealing with uncertainty will find a clear, calm, and responsible voice.
Pourquoi certains fuient la responsabilité et d’autres s’y accrochent ;
Comment trouver un équilibre entre vie professionnelle et vie personnelle ;
Quels profils de responsables on rencontre dans le quotidien du travail ;
Responsibility isn't a burden—it's an opportunity.
After spending 25 years leading teams in healthcare, social services, and local politics, Jean-Paul Bleser shares his experience with humor, candor, and simplicity. This book isn't a theoretical treatise, but a personal journey that invites everyone to reflect on what it means to "take responsibility."
Through anecdotes, reflections, and real-life situations, the author explores responsibility in all its facets: personal, professional, and collective. He shows how it can become a source of balance, meaning, and authenticity—in both private life and management.
You'll discover:
Why some people avoid responsibility while others embrace it;
How to find a balance between professional and personal life;
What types of leaders you encounter in day-to-day work;
What simple strategies help you remain a clear-minded and humane manager.
An accessible, candid, and inspiring account that doesn't lecture, but rather offers food for thought for all of us.
In Chronicle of a World at a Standstill, Jean-Paul Bleser offers a personal and lucid account of the COVID-19 period, experienced from within, on the frontlines.
A healthcare professional in Luxembourg, the author traces the various phases of the health crisis, from the virus's distant emergence to its profound consequences on society. Through his experience, he thoughtfully examines the rise of fear, isolation, human solidarity, and also the progressive weakening of social bonds.
Without judgment or ideological stance, this account offers a human, nuanced, and accessible perspective on a period that upended our collective and individual reference points. It invites readers to step back and reflect on what this crisis truly transformed within us and in the way we live together.
A sincere testimony, grounded in reality, that seeks above all to understand.
